PAST THEATRE
'Cathy'
'Cathy' was a play created for an event in Manchester to celebrate International Women's Day. The subject matter was about sex and sexuality. The piece was 20 minutes in length and featured Big Comedy Shop founder Ali Kahn playing the role of a mother who finds out her daughter has been experimenting sexually with a female friend on a video found on youtube. The title role of Cathy - Ali's daughter in the piece, was played by Nicki Leigh Rogers - a student from our comedy and acting school. 'Cathy' was a live performance that also used pre recorded film for a mulit media effect. 'Cathy' was performed to many young women's groups in the North West.
Jose Johnson, Training, Staff Development MIS & QA Manager, Tameside Young Peoples Centre.
“The production of 'Cathy' was great. It dealt with a serious issue in a light hearted way which got the message across to young people. The young people enjoyed the experience and found it interesting and informative.”
