LAUGHTER YOGA

Sun demands no reason to shine;
Water demands no reason to flow;
A child demands no reason to be happy;
Why do we need a reason to laugh?

Laughter Yoga was started by a medical doctor, Dr.Madan Kataria from India with just five people from a Mumbai Park in 1995. Today there are thousands of laughter yoga clubs in more than 65 countries.

At Big Comedy shop we have our very own fully certified laughter yoga Leader, Eddie Capli to deliver a fun energising laughter session for you.

Laughter yoga has many physiological and psychological benefits to offer.
Laughter itself is proven to boost the immune system, release endorphins, combat stress, provide more oxygen to the brain , helps with depression ,improves social lives-the list goes on...

So Laughter Yoga is about using the scientific fact that the human body cannot differentiate between real or fake laughter if done with willingness.

We initiate laughter as an exercise in a group, but with eye contact and childlike playfulness, it soon turns into real and contagious laughter.

Laughter Yoga can be a great way to improve exam results develop children’s emotional intelligence, develop young people’s self confidence and improve motivation and energy levels.

Children and young people spend about a third of their time at school, making the importance on the health and well being of students relevant. Big Comedy Shop can assist your school in delivering creative workshops/courses on young people’s issues. Here are some of the topics we cover – however we can create bespoke workshops if needed.

TESTIMONIALS

David Prophet
Assistant Head Teacher & Director of Arts College

Chorlton High School

"We booked Big Comedy Shop to deliver their Comedy Connections workshop as part of ChorltonHigh School's provision for our feeder Primaries as part
of Chorlton Arts Festival. The workshop was excellent - carefully
planned, appropriate for the age range and most importantly lots and lots
of fun for all of the students and staff.

The workshop aimed to build students' confidence as well as their comedy
skills; it delivered on both counts and much more. By the end of the 1
hour session every single person in the workshop had performed with confidence and enthusiasm, and all left with smiles on their faces. Much of this was thanks to the well pitched content and the energetic and dynamic approach of the workshop leaders. We were all delighted, and by the end of the session were discussing next year's booking!"

Lizzie Wray

Assistant Head Teacher, Chorlton Park Primary School

“Big Comedy Shop came to our school to deliver a day of comedy based workshops on the Tudors for our year 4 students. The drama workshops were really well planned and fitted with many areas of the curriculum. The children and staff enjoyed them and the outcomes were a real enthusiasm for our topic work on the Tudors. Big Comedy shop tackled some serious issues but showed that learning can be fun. Thank you."
